Dizziness

This has been a week of unexpected changes. We have been talking about buying a house here (even though I don't like the idea of owning a house under sea level) and on Monday we suddenly rented a van and drove to Arnhem to pick up a Canadian Maple floor. The wood is quite rare and expensive in this part of the world, but we bought about 30 sq/m or 300 sq/ft for 100 euros. The van cost 120, so we got quite the deal. And we were able to see Arnhem, a nice town that actually has some hills!

Later in the week we found out the house that we were interested in was sold. Our interest shifted to a different house and we made an appointment to see about a mortgage. Because I start a new job in the fall (even though I am already working there) the mortgage was denied. I was quite disappointed. Perhaps this means we shouldn't buy a house here but look for a job in the States instead? I wish I could slow my head down, but I tend to rush to conclusions. I would like to invest in the future but I am not sure how or where. I guess for now I will just need to learn to enjoy life where it is at.
Arnhem.

Our wood-hauling van - the boards barely fit - some stretched between bottom and top corners.

So much for a clean entry way...where will we put this?
